AI filmmaking

AI video production and AI filmmaking in Pittsburgh, PA

Stories too big for a real-world budget, made with AI and finished by filmmakers.

A newer tool in the kit, and we’re still learning it like everyone else. We write and direct it like any other film, then edit, color, mix and animate it by hand so it feels intentional, not generated.

What’s included

  • Concept, script and visual direction, the same as any film we make
  • AI-generated shots, characters and worlds
  • Editing, color, sound design, music and motion graphics, done by hand
  • Versions sized for social, web and presentations

AI is a newer tool in the kit, and we’re still learning it like everyone else. What we bring is the filmmaking around it: story, pacing, sound and finish.

How it works

  1. Idea first. We start with the story, not the software: what should the audience feel, and what should they do next?
  2. Look development. We test styles and characters until the world feels consistent.
  3. Generation and selects. Every shot is generated many times, and we keep the takes that work, much like choosing takes on set.
  4. Finishing. The same edit, color and sound process as our camera work, which is what makes it feel intentional instead of generated.

Where it fits

AI suits stories that would be too expensive or impossible to film: period pieces, big set pieces, faraway places, and fast-turn social content. Recent examples include Around the World in 80 Days, 200 Mile Race of Legends, Attack of the Killer Bees and Invasion of the Galactic Burgers for Tastyland, and Mission Impossible for CEC.

Questions people ask

Is AI video cheaper than a shoot?

Sometimes. It skips crews, locations and travel, but good results still take writing, testing and careful finishing. It makes the most sense when an idea would be too costly, or impossible, to shoot for real.

Can AI video include our product or logo?

Often, with care. Products, logos and real people are the hardest things to keep consistent, so we talk through what’s realistic for your project before we start.

Will people know it’s AI?

Usually, and we think that’s fine. We’re happy to label it, and we follow the disclosure rules of the platforms it runs on.

Does AI replace a real shoot?

No. It’s one more tool. For real people telling real stories, a camera is still the right choice, and we’ll tell you when that’s the case.
